I was disappointed with the end. Is she experiencing dementia? Was the author watching an old rerun of "Golden Girls" when she penned this experience? I doubt the character of Miss Budge would succumb to a ludicrous suggestion from an "artist".What happened to the person who feared the man on the bike would fall in love with her? Other than the sweet Millie Budge having a strange hidden character flaw that would surely ostracize her from her brunch ladies group forever, I found the narrative a page turner to the end. Getting to the end was not worth the character assassination of dear, retired school teacher Mildred Budge. She might be accused of being naive but I found her insightful from her years of experience, therefore I found it unrealistic for her to suddenly be "blonde". I guess I could say I was offended for Millie. Her character was slandered. What will she encounter in the second in the series? I'll soon find out.

This is a book for people who are interested in the thinking of a devout Christian lady of a certain age who in most cases, especially the last chapter, is not afraid to think out of her box. Entertaining. I takes place in Montgomery AL.
Good little book
I know those ladies. I AM those ladies! Smart, thought-provoking - love Simpkins' easy style that says, "Come back for more."
Although this is obviously written at a more gentle time in the world, I found Miss Budge to be thoroughly enjoyable. It was pleasant to read and not have to censor as I go.

I enjoyed Miss Budge in Love very much. Her inner life, thoughts on God and people, her outlook was wonderful and compassionate. She was reasonable but also very adventurous. A very good reminder that there is always more than we can see, hear or know. I feel like I have known some Miss Budge's in my life who knows I could be one even if I am a Mrs. I would enjoy more about Miss Budge. She was honest about how she felt yet was not constantly correcting others. She was one who loved God and people with her whole heart and yet was wise, kind and in prayer and praise where ever she was.You can enjoy it in bits and pieces which I did or read all at one time. Thanks you for Miss Budge who makes us realize life is full of excitement, mundane work, good and bad days but all to be thankful for.
